October 5, 2017 from 5-8pm at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Harold Prince Theater, 3680 Walnut St. 

Icarus is a documentary thriller about the shocking details of Russia’s alleged athletic doping scandal and the risks taken by filmmaker Bryan Fogel and a Russian doctor to reveal the truth. A reception will follow.

After the film, join us for a discussion, “The Science and Politics of Athletic Doping,” featuring:

• Bill Burke-White: Inaugural Director of Perry World House, Richard Perry Professor and Professor of Law. (Panel Moderator)

• David Fialkow: Executive Producer, Icarus and member of Impact Partners, an independent documentary film company focusing on issues of social justice. Co-Founder and Managing Director, General Catalyst

• Philip Nichols: Joseph Kolodny Professor of Social Responsibility in Business; Professor of Legal Studies & Business Ethics with a focus on corruption, emerging economics, international trade and investment

• Mitchell Orenstein: Professor of Russian and East European Studies, holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Political Science and is a scholar of international politics focusing on the political economy of transition in Central and Eastern Europe

• Mary Robinson: Director of Penn Vet's Equine Pharmacology Laboratory, manages a team of researchers at New Bolton Center to study the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs in horses. Dr. Robinson is also the Acting Director of the Pennsylvania Equine Toxicology and Research Laboratory within the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
