Biography
Kelly-Marie Bermudez is a junior economics and urban studies major in the College. She was born on May 26th, 1985 in Perth Amboy, NJ, where she stayed till arriving at Penn. She has one younger sister named Melissa and she is always inspired by her mother. When she was in grammar school, she wanted to be ballerina and has been undecided ever since. Her most inspiring course was URBS009 – Writing About Race – Schooling in the City because it was unlike any class she had had before and it was the reason she chose the urban studies major. She enjoys acknowledging inequalities in the urban setting and having conversations about
what can be done about social plight. She had a most difficult time in Econ101 – Intermediate Microeconomics and had the easiest time in MUSC075 – Jazz. Her favorite thing about Penn is the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and is least enthusiastic about Penn’s tuition. Her favorite West Philadelphia identity is the abundance of murals around the city but her favorite overall place in the world is Colombia. Her favorite food is Skippy’s Creamy Peanut Butter (Reduced Fat) and she hates eating liver. She enjoys all types of music, especially R&B, and except for heavy metal. Her favorite exercise is running and her least favorite is lifting weights. She would like to proclaim her special talent in being able to lick her elbow.
